Meet your hosts for the 2018 Made in the West Film Festival

Made in the West Film Festival kicks off TOMORROW!

The excitement is certainly building here in the Still Searchin' camp as we're less than 24hrs from festival night! We can't wait to see you all there tomorrow at Event Cinemas, Liverpool!

A word to the wise: use the #madeinthewest hashtag on your way to the festival (on any of our social platforms) and you'll go in the running to WIN a $50 bar tab, courtesy of Event Cinemas!

We'll draw the winner at end of the first segment so you can shout your mates the first round during the break.

Find us on socials here:

For now though, it’s time to meet your HOSTS for the 2018 Made in the West Film Festival.

We’re so thrilled to welcome two charismatic hosts to get you in the mood for celebration this weekend. They’ll be introducing our finalist films on stage and hosting our red carpet interviews -- don’t be afraid to say hello when you see them!

JAMES PRESTON

James has a wealth of experience and will be our MC for the night, introducing all of our finalists’ films. A two-time NSW Young Achiever of the Year nominee, he has a passion for all things media and entertainment! He’s currently the host of commercial breakfast show 93.5 Eagle FM and has worked as a communications manager in addition to producing and presenting independent TV series, Musos with James Preston, which aired on TV ARCANA in 2018. He is also one half of the Banter Brigade podcast, which delivers a twisted take on pop culture alongside a decent dose of some ridiculous banter. James has appeared in feature and short films, hosted a stack of live events and performed alongside Ja Rule and XZIBIT. Last year he did a great job as our host for the red-carpet interviews and this year he is excited to step into the spotlight to guide our audience through our awesome line up of short films. We’re stoked to welcome him back! Follow James on FB here.

LAURA BRADSHAW

Laura B is a radio announcer for 100.3FM Sound of Macarthur and will be working her magic on the microphone for our vox pops and red-carpet interviews as part of our highlights reel this year. Originally from Liverpool UK, Laura started out in the world of dance, modelling and commercial radio. Since moving Down Under ten years ago, Laura has brought her knowledge to the airwaves launching a weekly Best of British show, broadcast to South West Sydney and attracting many online followers around the globe. Her interviews with some of the leading UK bands and artists are a testimony to the work she does. Recently Laura launched another radio show - Irish Vibes - which caters to the huge Irish population in Australia. Laura prides herself on bringing attention to the grassroots individuals of the music and entertainment industry and continues to strive to give them a platform to be seen. We’re thrilled she can join us on the red carpet at tomorrow’s Made in the West Film Festival. Follow Laura on Facebook here.

Please join us in thanking our hosts!

We're pretty darn pleased they can be with us tomorrow evening, hosting you all for a great night. And it IS going to be a great night -- partly because we know Western Sydney has brought their best film work for you to see -- and also because we have an awesome team of contributors who are willing to throw their support behind our thriving filmmaker community.

And you know what that means, right? Tomorrow’s MADE IN THE WEST FILM FESTIVAL is going to be our best festival ever!

See you there!
