In 2018, Made in the West Film Festival will feature 14 short films made by filmmakers from right across Western Sydney; from Fairfield to Telopea, and Kellyville to Campbelltown.
While the films may differ in genre and type, they all share one thing in common: they each feature a cast member, crew member or location from Western Sydney. And we think that’s pretty awesome!
In this year’s festival line-up you’ll get to see some comedy, documentaries, dramatic web series, crime dramas, thrillers and even some post-apocalyptic action films. The program is a mixed bag, as always!
Without a doubt, the Western Sydney films we are seeing today are more gutsy, more unique and more well crafted than we’ve ever seen before.
Congratulations to all the entrants who submitted a film to Made in the West 2018 and of course, a special mention must go to all our semi-finalists, whose films only just missed out on being in the line-up this year. For those of you wondering what those films were like, we’re very pleased to announce that we’ll be showcasing highlights from all 15 semi-finalists films for you on the night.
Because the final judge at Made in the West is YOU! Vote for your favourite film at the end of the night and you could send someone home with a trophy! Deciding the winner of our highly coveted Audience Choice Award lays squarely in your hands.
