Meet your Festival HOSTS!

Made in the West Film Festival kicks off TOMORROW NIGHT with the 7pm Premiere Awards Night followed by the 8pm Made in the West Marathon!!

The excitement is certainly building here in the Still Searchin' camp as we're less than 36hrs from festival night. We can't wait to see you all there at Event Cinemas, Liverpool!

It’s time to meet your HOSTS for the 2020 Made in the West Film Festival!

We’re thrilled to have these three talented and charismatic hosts on the microphone this year to get you in the mood for celebration. They’ll be on stage introducing our finalist films and on the red carpet hosting our filmmaker interviews and highlights - don’t be afraid to say hello when you see them!

LAURA BRADSHAW

Laura B will be joining us again as MC for the 2020 VIP Premiere Awards Night in cinema 12! Last year she did a fabulous job as our host on the red-carpet and this year she is excited to step into the spotlight once again to help us celebrate and recognise Western Sydney talent on the big screen. Originally from Liverpool UK, Laura started out in the world of dance, modelling and commercial radio. Since moving Down Under eleven years ago, Laura has brought her radio DJ skills to the airwaves launching a weekly Best of British radio show in South West Sydney and attracting many online followers around the globe. You can follow Laura B on Facebook here. Recently Laura has been planning her return to the airwaves with her own podcast - stay tuned for an announcement in 2021! We’re stoked to welcome Laura B back to the festival this year as MC.

ROSS PAGE

Cinema 11 guests, get excited as Roscoe from The Pagey Train podcast will be entertaining you for the night as your official host of the 8pm Made in the West MARATHON! Ross is the artistic director of Made in the West and he founded the festival 9 years ago to give a voice to local artists and bring Western Sydney films to a wider audience. You will likely recognise him as the host of The Pagey Train podcast which hosts interviews each week with local creatives including actors, musicians, filmmakers and entrepreneurs. You can check out the podcast episodes here. Ross is the lead creative at Still Searchin' Productions, a film & TV production group based in Western Sydney and the core team that plans and produces Made in the West each year.

Please join us in thanking our hosts!

We're pretty darn pleased they can be with us tomorrow evening to host you all for a great night.

And it IS going to be a great night -- partly because we know Western Sydney has given us an awesome line-up for you to enjoy in the 7pm Official Selection and 8pm Marathon Selection -- and also because we know we have an AWESOME team of contributors who are willing to throw their support behind our thriving filmmaker community.

Are you wondering what to expect at the festival this year? Maybe you have questions about our plans for hosting a Covid-safe festival? There’s lots of info over on our news blog!

For those of you who can’t join us tomorrow -- we’ve got you covered!
