Made in the West's MEGA Movie Marathon returns to screens around the world this summer for all our friends and family across the country and around the globe – we can't wait to bring all the glamour of the festival red carpet to you at home!

We're streaming ON DEMAND to your devices from Monday 1 December through Saturday 28 February.

For just $19.95 you can watch the full MEGA Movie Marathon featuring 16 incredible short films from Western Sydney's most talented filmmakers!

Or choose a curated session for $9.95 and dive into your favourite genres. It's packed with funny, thought-provoking and highly entertaining short films made by Aussie filmmakers from the suburban heartland of Sydney.

Note: We should warn you though - Made in the West is an 18+ event! Many of the films will contain mature content and this means that all of the usual things (including L,S,A,D,V) will likely make an appearance at some point throughout the show.

Hosted by Prudence Bernadette and James Preston, the MEGA Movie Marathon includes three segments of films with pause breaks for intermissions between each one.

We've captured all the excitement from the red carpet on Opening Night too, so that during the intermission you can meet some Western Sydney filmmakers and catch their interviews with our red carpet hosts!

Australia's best online short film festival is live NOW until Saturday 28 February.

Our 2025 Program has all details of this year's 3-hour MEGA line-up of 16 short films! PLUS this year there are eight new mini marathons for you to enjoy!

Each is unique and all are under 90 minutes, which means you can sit in for a short film couchfest more easily than ever before.

HOW DO I ACCESS THE ONLINE MARATHON? 

The festival is accessed directly through our new streaming website on Vimeo OTT. Register with Vimeo to create an account and then RENT Made in the West and save it to your library for just $19.95 AUD (full marathon) or $9.95 AUD (curated sessions) to enjoy an EPIC movie marathon from anywhere in the world!

Vimeo will ask you for your credit card or PayPal details to purchase. You'll have streaming access for seven days, from whenever you hit the play button.

This year's line-up is sure to cause a few debates over which film is best – there are just too many to choose from!

Note: At the end of the show we'll be asking you to vote for your favourite film – in order to vote you will need to scan the QR code on screen then follow the link. You will find it easiest to do this from a second screen, ideally your mobile phone.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE SHOW? 

Made in the West MEGA Movie Marathon includes 3 segments of films with a pause break for intermission between each one. There's also interviews with filmmakers during the breaks and you'll get to see some of the highlights from the cinema on Opening Night.

Your hosts Prudence and James will tell you when it's time to pause your screen so you can take a break, top up your drinks and snacks, then jump back into the next segment when you're ready.

The total running time is 3 hours and the line-up includes 16 short films, plus highlights from the Opening Night Gala red carpet with host Shetu Simone and interviews with local filmmakers.

At the end of the show YOUR VOTE will help us determine the winner of our $3,500 Panavision camera equipment prize package for the 2025 People's Choice Award.

HOW DO I VOTE? 

Your hosts will explain what to do! The instructions will appear on your screen and you will simply scan the QR code with your phone and follow the link to vote for your favourite films – it's super easy!

Your vote could be the one that decides our final winner!

Once voting closes, we'll tally up the votes and reveal who won – stay tuned to this news blog and our social media channels so you can see the announcement online!

Any time you want, between NOW and Saturday 28 February 2026. Just remember to allow yourself at least 3 hours to watch it!
