Made in the West 2024 opens for tickets

Tickets are now open for Made in the West 2024!

Yes – the most magical time of the year has rolled around once again where the hotly contested tickets this side of Sydney’s giant coat hanger are open for registration. Thank the heavens!

It’s been another HUGE year, filled with creativity and bustling with fresh ideas. We can’t wait to celebrate Western Sydney filmmakers on the red carpet later this month (Psst! We’ll be announcing exactly who will be screening very soon – keep your eyes peeled to our social media channels next week as we have some huge announcements coming.)

Join us at Event Cinemas Liverpool on Saturday 30 November - doors open at 6pm for red carpet entry and the opening night party, with the Festival Screening & Awards Night from 8pm-11.30pm.

The best of Western Sydney’s creative community will be out in full force - you have to be there!

We’ve prepared this information and helpful resources to assist you in registering for for the in-cinema event tickets. You’ll find a stack of FAQs and step-by-step instructions below to help you with the various parts of ordering your tickets.

If you’ve attended before, we encourage you to read on as we’ve made some changes this year!

Most excitedly, this year we’re introducing the ability to select your in-cinema seats at the time of booking. We’re trialling a new system that will hopefully mean a quicker and more seamless entry process on the night. Yay!

And most importantly, and we really can’t stress this enough, Made in the West has always been, and always will be, a FREE event.

We love throwing a party that celebrates the creative work of Western Sydney filmmakers. We offer a limited amount of paid tickets for those who would like to make a small contribution to the event running costs. As you will see below, there are some VIP options if you’re so inclined.

TICKET TYPES

General Admission tickets (FREE): This ticket is free and open to anyone, including all cast & crew of the finalist films, as well as any friends, family and film fans. We’ve set a maximum of four tickets per order; if you’re after more than that, please complete a second order. However, before you register tickets for your mates, please check in with them to make sure they are available and keen to attend.

Reserved Seating tickets ($20): Buy your way into some of the best seats in the house! You’ll be able to select a seat anywhere in the house, including in the upper-middle rows with VIPs. Really, this ticket is just a way to show your support for Made in the West and contribute to the event. All proceeds from ticket sales go towards event running costs. Again, expect a maximum of four tickets per order here.

VIP Exclusive Opening Night Party & Screening tickets ($100): Donate to the festival and you'll buy your way into the winners' circle! This is your chance to mingle with special guests including judges, sponsors and Official Selection filmmakers at our exclusive Opening Night Party, with champagne upon arrival, your choice of seats anywhere in the house for the screening and awards, plus unlimited popcorn and soft drinks all night.

Really, this ticket is a way to show how much you love Made in the West AND you will also get to celebrate the night in style. All proceeds from ticket sales go towards event running costs (and we thank you dearly!)

SEATING ALLOCATIONS

If you wish to sit with your friends, we encourage you to register for tickets together. The ticket site also has functionality to search for attendees and select seats near them, if you wish. Just add your tickets to your cart and progress through to the seat selection stage to search for your mates.

SPECIAL GUEST TICKET INFO

We have several ‘hidden’ tickets for VIPs and other special guests. If you have been provided with an ‘access code’ please enter this code at the ticket selection menu page. Access codes that are added during the checkout (in the ‘discount code’ section) will not work, so you will have to begin your order again. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

WATCH THE MOVIE MARATHON ONLINE

We've got an extra special line-up planned for our annual MEGA Movie Marathon - available to view between 10 December 2024 and 31 January 2024.

Reserve a ticket and we'll send you a direct link on 10 December to access the show online via our website. Your purchase allows you 7 days video hire - like a digital video store! The 2024 MEGA Movie Marathon features 3 hours of films including the Official Selection films, plus 10 amazing local films we just. can't. resist. showing you, as well as interviews with filmmakers and VIP guests, and all the highlights from the red carpet event in cinema.

The best part? You can watch the whole show from your couch! Invite your friends, settle in with some popcorn and see the year's best films online.

TICKET FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Made in the West is an 18+ event.

Many of the films will contain mature content. This means that all of the usual things that will make you cover the eyes and ears of young folk (including strong language, sex scenes, nudity, adult themes, drug use and violence) will likely make an appearance at some point throughout the night. Sorry, no kids allowed.

Note: If you are the parent or guardian of an under-age cast or crew member of one of our finalist films, feel free to contact us to discuss your options.

What are my transport / parking options for getting to and from the event?

Event Cinemas is located on the top floor of Westfield Shopping Centre, Macquarie Street in Liverpool.

PARKING: Access the Westfield carpark via George Street and go to the roof. Parking at Westfield is free for 3 hours if you arrive before 6pm, or entirely free if you arrive after 6pm.

TRAINS & BUSES operate until late.

PEDESTRIAN access to the cinema is via the front street entrance of Westfield Shopping Centre, then take the first escalator to the roof.

ACCESSIBILITY: The cinema is wheelchair accessible.

My order is more expensive than the advertised price. What gives?

All tickets appear at the same price on the ticket selection menu. Once you have selected your tickets, step through to the order form. Humanitix applies a booking fee and GST to all orders – this is something we are unable to navigate around. All profits from their booking fees go toward charitable causes.

Do I need to bring my ticket to the event?

Yes. Please bring your ticket/s - digital is preferred (save the trees!) - and show the QR code to our ushers when you arrive so that we can scan your ticket.

Is my ticket transferable?

Yes. You can follow the instructions given below to edit the information including the name and email address for each ticket holder / festival attendee. If you can't do it yourself, you can contact us and we will update your ticket for you.

I don’t have the names of people attending yet. Can I still register for tickets?

Enter ‘TBC’ for the first and last name fields and enter your own contact details for ‘Other’ phone and email address fields. You can return to the order and edit / amend details later (see instructions below). Note: all names of attendees must be updated by 6pm Friday 29 November.
