Picture this: a packed cinema at Event Cinemas Liverpool, 330 film enthusiasts cheering for locally made films, red carpet glamour, and the electric energy of Western Sydney's most celebrated night for filmmakers.

This is Made in the West Film Festival – and we want YOU to be part of the magic!

For over a decade, Made in the West has been the beating heart of Western Sydney's film community.

What started as a casual screening night among friends in 2012 has grown into one of Australia's most beloved grassroots film festivals, and we couldn't have done it without the incredible sponsors and partners who have believed in our purpose and the capability of the Western Sydney filmmaking community.

When you support Made in the West, you're not just backing the festival – you're investing in the next generation of Australian storytellers from one of the most culturally diverse and creatively vibrant regions in the country.

Your contribution helps authentic Western Sydney voices reach local audiences through our live screening events, as well as nationally and internationally through our online marathon program.

We're buzzing with excitement about the amazing organisations that have already joined us for 2025!

Our heartfelt thanks go to Event Cinemas Liverpool, Western Sydney University, Screen NSW, Luke Walker Productions, Opening Act Films, Still Searchin' Productions, SWR 99.9 FM, and Made in the West Creative for their continued belief in what we're building and backing of local screen practitioners.

These partnerships aren't just about logos and recognition (although we love shouting about our supporters!); they're about building a sustainable creative ecosystem where Western Sydney filmmakers can thrive.

From Screen NSW's industry expertise to SWR 99.9 FM's media reach, every supporter brings something special that helps our community grow stronger.

We're on the hunt for passionate organisations and businesses who want to champion Western Sydney's incredible filmmaking scene. Whether you're a screen guild, arts organisation, local production house, film school, industry peak body, or corporate business offering film services, there's a way for you to get involved.

Our sponsorship tiers are designed to suit different levels of support, from Prize Sponsorship (perfect for smaller businesses wanting to contribute), through to our Silver, Gold, and Platinum packages.

Every tier comes with fantastic perks that put your organisation front and centre throughout our festival journey.

Sponsors will enjoy seeing their company logo promoted throughout the festival on our three-storey cinema screen and on printed programmes, and included in our social media campaigns.

You will also receive complimentary VIP tickets to our Opening Night Screening, as well as the online marathon, with your name featured in the festival credits!

Top tier sponsors will have the opportunity to speak at the event and present awards to winning filmmakers, or the chance to include a video advertisement in our screenings.

Not ready for financial sponsorship? No worries! We absolutely love creative partnerships that offer real value to our filmmaker community.

Think equipment donations, workshop access, editing suite time, sound mixing studio sessions, mentorship opportunities, cinematography packages, photography sessions, software licenses, or venue access.

These contributions often mean more to emerging filmmakers than cash prizes – they're investments in skills, networks, and career development that can change lives. When Luke Walker Productions donates a DOP package, or Opening Act Films provides helpful equipment, they're creating impact that extends far beyond our festival.

Made in the West provides a special opportunity to be part of a growing creative movement!

Our MEGA Movie Marathon will screen online throughout summer, reaching global audiences via Vimeo, and our community screenings this year will bring Western Sydney stories to venues across the region.

We're looking to work with arts and cultural organisations seeking engaging summer programming. If you have a community screen, and being part of our #SummerofFilm sounds like something your organisation might be interested in, we'd love to discuss how we can bring Western Sydney stories to your part of town! Reach out to us so we can chat!

When you support us, your investment works all year long. From our Opening Night red carpet celebration on Saturday 22 November 2025 at Event Cinemas Liverpool, through to our summer screenings and global online presence, your partnership creates ongoing value for both your organisation and our filmmaker community.

Think about the screen guilds that have embraced Made in the West, the educational institutions that see the value in supporting emerging talent, and the local businesses that understand the power of authentic community storytelling – they're not just sponsors – they're part of a movement that's putting Western Sydney film on the map.

When organisations like Screen NSW support us, they're investing in future industry talent. When Event Cinemas Liverpool provides our venue, they're creating a pathway for community to be seen on screen. When Western Sydney University partners with us, they're giving their students real-world industry experience. Every partnership creates ripple effects that extend far beyond our festival night.

Western Sydney isn't just geographically diverse – it's culturally, creatively, and economically diverse in ways that create incredibly rich storytelling opportunities.

Home to over 2.5 million people, our region represents one of the most multicultural areas in Australia, and our filmmakers come from backgrounds that reflect modern Australia.

Their stories resonate with audiences who rarely see themselves represented in mainstream media. When you support Made in the West, you're helping ensure these voices don't just survive – they thrive. You're contributing to an Australia where great stories come from everywhere, not just the usual suspects.

ree

Made in the West Creative is building something bigger than a festival. We're a social enterprise creating a sustainable creative ecosystem where Western Sydney filmmakers can build careers, tell their stories with pride, and contribute meaningfully to Australia's cultural landscape.

Economic modelling shows that Western Sydney's creative industries could deliver an additional $6.4 billion per year with appropriate investment – and we're doing our part to make that happen. Will you join us?

Whether you're interested in major sponsorship, creative partnerships, or simply want to chat about how you can support Western Sydney film, we'd love to hear from you. We're dedicated to making sure every partnership delivers real value for everyone involved.

Don't just support filmmakers – invest in the future of Australian storytelling.

The deadline for film submissions is approaching fast, which means our 2025 lineup is taking shape. Be part of the excitement from the ground up by getting in touch today.
