ENTRIES NOW CLOSED for the 2016 Festival - GOOD LUCK to the finalists!

After extending the closing date for submissions to Monday 14th November, we are happy to announce that entries are now CLOSED!

Congratulations to all of the filmmakers who have entered a film this year -- we are so impressed with your work and we can't wait to hear what the judges have to say!

So sit down, strap in, and get ready for the festival ride of your life!! This year is going to be a doozie.

All 2016 film finalists will be announced in the coming days.

Independent filmmakers will compete for the title of Best in the West - a prestigious award recognising the top talent from Western Sydney each year.

Student filmmakers will compete for the Best Student Film Award - and bragging rights among school mates because your bright future in film is practically assured.

Once the judging is complete, all finalists will be notified with their nominations for individual category prizes. Yes, you heard us right -- you could be up for the Best Director or Best Editor Award, or Best Cinematographer or Sound Design, or even Best Actress and Actor!

Walk the red carpet and see your film on the big screen at the Paddo RSL on Thursday 1st December.

Starting at 6pm, the festival will screen 3 sets of short films across 3 hours, and then we'll ask YOU, the audience, to vote for your favourite.

Don't worry, there'll be plenty of time for drinks and mingling and you'll be able to get some dinner too. We've got you covered.

Come along to the Paddo RSL on Thursday 1st December for a great night of films produced right here in Sydney by the next generation of young, suburban filmmakers.

See you at Made in the West 2016!
