Join us to find out this year's WINNERS and see Western Sydney's emerging and established filmmakers on the RED CARPET. You will become our final JUDGE as you take in the top 17 films and VOTE for your favourite! The Audience Choice Award will be decided by YOU! Because after all, for the fans. --------- YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED: Doors open 6pm. Entry is FREE! First film kicks off at around 6.30pm and you are in for a FULL three hours of films! NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCEMENT for 2016 Made in the West Film Festival

Still Searchin' Productions is proud to announce the nominees for the individual award categories for the 2016 Made in the West Film Festival Each year we award six outstanding local producers who have excelled in the following categories: Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Sound Design, Best Actress and Best Actor. Of course, each film is ALSO in the running to win one of two major prizes - the Best in the West Award (for independent films) or the Best Student Film - decided by our panel of judges. The third major trophy - our highly coveted Audience Choice Award - is voted for on the night! We'll screen a marathon of short films and then YOU will vote for your favourite

The films are in and the finalists have been announced... now it's time for the judges to decide who will win this year's major prizes! And who are these judges, you ask? In 2016, our judging panel consists of four independent film and television producers, each with broad industry experience and a keen eye for a good product. The panel is diverse and we like it that way. Between them all, they've got to know something, right? We believe so. First up we have Dr. Rachel Bentley, former CEO of Television Sydney, director of the Digital Production Unit at WSU and director of Cutback, a multi-platform web project and feature documentary about street art in Sydney. MADE IN THE WEST FILM FESTIVAL is pleased to announce this year's festival finalists! Congratulations to all Western Sydney filmmakers on another outstanding year producing films. We had a record number of entries for the festival this year and we wish we could include you all in the program! We know just how much work goes into making short films (even if the result is only a few minutes long) and we commend you all for putting in the days, weeks, months of effort that was needed to get yours finished.
